ESPN claims the chips are finally falling, Nebraska is meeting with the Big Ten about the formal invitation.

Big Ten - Missouri and Nebraska

Pac 10 - Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, OU, OSU, Colorado

Left out in the cold - Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kansas

I can't believe the Kansas basketball program is being completely ignored in all of this.

If it really does shake out like stated above, you are going to have two Super-Conferences. Also heard TCU would joint the PAC 10 in the shakedown. We'll see if they really have what it takes then.

Go Huskers!

Let them take A&M's spot and have A&M try to escape from the burnt orange shadow to the SEC.  I don't see the SEC sitting on their hands through all of this and I sure as heck don't see A&M as a west coast school.

My source about TCU was wrong, but Jeff, you are correct. The SEC and ACC will have to make some kind of move.  TV contacts are definitely the play in all of this.

K-State's AD and President have SEC ties and they have been talking with them but I doubt that happens.

Why not form a Texas Conference?  There are more than enough teams to do so.
Viewing audience and depth of schedule. Look at Boise State. Their lack of conference schedule prevents them from playing for National Titles.  Plus the major population centers in Texas do not have powerhouse universities within them.

if we could get to a playoff system, this would not matter...we really still do not have a national champion.

I think that with this happening it is one step closer.  It really does go to show that there is only one thing that matters in the college world.  MONEY!!!  Thank you Nebraska for killing the BIG 12.

The schools that are joining the big ten is because of the revenue from the big ten network.  So it has to do with money to the schools.

Pac 10 and Big 10 will be two power house conferences... I also hope Notre Dame finally joins the Big Ten! Thinking Mizzu is going to lso join the Big 10 but would prefer a better football team than them to join but the Huskers and Irish will be good additions

here's what i think

Big 10- Missouri, Nebraska, k state , kansas, Iowa state, Notre Dame(won't happen)  These are all

Pac 10- osu, Ou,texas, texas tech, baylor, texas a& m

Colorado needs to go to the WAC or Mountain West with TCU & Boise, Utah let them be a BCS conference
