Older Angus Bull FAR Krugerrand 410H

Just curious if anyone has any experience with his offspring or any opinions. We just had a bull calf born today by him, who we are hoping will develop well and replace our current herd bull as we have kept several heifers over the last couple years.

Any thoughts? The calf is still dripping wet but photos will appear soon since the calf is in Oregon and I'm in Idaho, so I request frequent photos from my mom!

buddy of mine used the snot out of kruggerand and a son of his for many years on their 400 angus cows.  Actually, I think they might have actually owned the kruggerand of Donomere bull-- but i could be wrong... I can't really comment- other than they love HUGE Cattle- frame 7 and 8.. and there for awhile a son of donomere was almost hte biggest angus bull-- he was lacking 23 lb of taking the title- before he decided to walk through the barn wall and got a nail in  his foot.  i think he weighed 35 something.

sorry, they used the snot out of a son- Kruggerand they had.. and had a grandson they called donomere.. i knew there was a connection there, been too long since i was at their place to remember.

Thanks, I really like some of the heifers they had in their sale. It will be interesting to see how he grows. The cow had one of the best calves the last two years so we're excited to see how he turns out.

We made the switch from the rainbow/hodgepodge (we're talking a  jersey x charolais x shorthorn x brown swiss x angus heinz 57 hot mess, using what ever bull they could barrow to breed the cattle that were off spring of my aunts old dairy 4-H projects type of thing!) herd we had to Reg. Angus about 12 years ago now. The last few years we've made some big strides forward and finally replaced all the older cows we first bought with much better quality daughters and granddaughters. Hopefully this calf will turn out well and keep us moving forward. Good news is that he's alive and healthy so we're off to a good start.

Cattle Nut -- your donor cow is a direct Grand-daughter of the mother of 410-H - of course. I know that cow VERY well -- your cow looks just like her grandmother did 8 years ago when I first got to work on her here in Nebraska. She was bred up in the Dakotas, and purchased the year after she had 410-H by Nemeth Angus, I flushed that cow we called "STUBBY" (She had severly frostbitten ears) at least 2 dozen times over 8 years. She would do about 5 flushes good, then quit and get bred to calve and come back later. Heck of a cow, I was even offered a chance to buy the old girl a month ago just before she went to town at 16 years old. If we had had a better year I may have just bought her to let her retire in style.

Her real number was 286-F -- 1996 model. We always called her 410 due to her son being a national champion at Denver. Not a huge cow at all, probably 1500 when in her prime, she weighed 1360 on her final trip. I feel fortunate to have had her here off and on for so long, I think I Have a picture on here if I can find it taken in 2005 -- let me look.

Well I guess it has long gone away -- forgot I got a new computer -- she is in Cyuber Space some place I guess.

Any way -- just thought I'd share the story -- she pruduced a couple hundred eggs over the years with not being hit very hard each time. Just a good solid cow like every one needs! Thanks for the memories, time does fly!

I have a female out of him.... she produces fast growing calves and has plenty of milk.  Bred her to Ali and she had a bull calf last year that we are keeping.  This year she had a nice heifer calf out of a witch doctor x sagahatchee bull.

Well, here are a few photos of him at 24 hours old. We're excited to see how he fills out and grows. Time will tell, but we're hoping he will fit our needs.
