This story was on the local news in Lexington Ky last night.  Evidently a teenage girls 3 month old calf came up missing.  Her father found it on a neighboring farm and it had been butchered for meat right there in the field. The father was saying it was someone who knew what they were doing by the remains he found and how it had been cut up.  They interviewed the girl and she was expaining how she had raised it to be her show calf this year and it was the best one she had ever had.  Just awful.  I hope whoever is trying to eat the calf chokes on the first bite.  If you want to see the story a video is on lex18news.

Starving or not, no excuse to steal. If they had asked the owners they would have probably given them food. It's kinda like when a thief breaks a $400 side window to steal a $5 bill laying in a console. The owner would have been glad to give them $200 in order to save the $400 window.
Plenty of gov't programs and church programs to get free food.

That is what I thought.  Go buy a $3 jar of peanut butter and a $2 loaf of bread.  Get on food stamps, anything.  The girl's father has a $1000 reward out.  Sad thing is I am sure that calf was an easy mark since it was gentle and broke to lead.  They were too lazy to go chase down a wild calf and  kill it.

You are probably right.  Or maybe they are illegal.  Only so many people would be skilled enough to cut up a beef in the dark.  Maybe they cut themselves and have lockjaw by now.
