Love it when they photograph calves in deep straw.  This one is in straw up to his knees, I bet he's a bit leggy and doesnt look nearly as deep on hard ground.

Wrong answer rookie!  Theres another picture of him in the latest issue of SimTalk and hes not leggy. Pictured on hard ground even!  Of  course the deep straw helps a bit but he looks like a pretty good bull.

A buddy of mine is a good friend of a pretty prominent name in the Simmental breed and was told by him that he is the best simmental bull since Power Drive, and Power Drive was a cow changer so im excited to see what this bull will do!

I kinda liked this bull when I saw him in the Register ad. I don't remember seeing they had semen priced that high, and that'll prob keep me from using him for a while. I've had decent luck with his daddy, Shear Pleasure, so I'm interested to see how he works out.

We bought 5 straws last fall ($50/straw), got one conception. The dam is a first calf heifer, shown by our oldest at Texas Nationals (7th overall bred and owned) and Iowa. She is sired by Upgrade, out of our good Pacesetter x Built Right cow. Calf was 286 days gestation, and we ended up with a light pull (calf was 84 pounds 36 hours after birth). The heifer likely would have not needed assistance, however since I was there watching her and wanted to get to bed I decided to help her out a bit. A nice, big, healthy heifer calf with plenty of chrome! Our daughter sure is happy with her. I expected a smaller calf, but am happy for a live healthy one. First pic is the One Eyed Jack, second is the dam.
We have had 4 calves this last week; three sired by ACW IronHide and this one. The three Iron hides were all little (low to mid 60's), and two of the three have plenty of white on the face also. It takes the sting out of the 250 day gestation Sandeen Upper Class x Zsa Zsa embryo calf we lost. That one I was looking forward to the most.
Third and fourth pics are both sired by Iron Hide.
