Any opinions, I would use him on some Double Vision daughters and grand daughters.

I am not sure on the way the back legs set. If you look at both of the calves out of him below they both have a bit of set to their leg. I guess I would have to see more. JIT should be able to comment on this one. This sires father looks better than him.  ???

Northern Legend is pretty sound in his leg structure. The picture does a pretty good job of showing him , except for his legs.
Legend calves have been popular here in Canada. He is what I would call a moderate BW bull. I am not 100% sure if he can be considered for use on heifers or not but I will try to find out. He is a thick made bull and sires calves with consistent thickness and eye appeal. His calves are easy fleshing and have an abundance of volume.

His back legs are fine.  What "set" means is that they would be slightly sickle hocked.  The set in his heifer's legs look just fine.  Cattle with a little more set will have a longer stride, and be MUCH sounder than one who is post-legged.

thanks for the explaination. Nothing bad at all. I have some older blood shortys that this trait may become more exaggerated. I try to find a balance when breeding as not to get to either extreme. But as expected JIT delivers. (thumbsup)

JIT,

How would you say Northern Legend compares to his paternal grand sire, "Diamond Captain Mark 27C"?
