This cow is 7, she is an Ice Pick X Red Knight, purebred maine. I haven't had a lot of luck breeding her. We have bred her to Heat Wave, Bismarck, Frye The Messenger, and I-80. I-80 has been the most successful. Only time will tell. What do you think of her and what would you use?

Wow we have some that look real similar in body type and we are in the same boat.  We have had a hard time finding something that they really click with.  We have always bred pretty conservatively because we always figured it wasn't worth killing a cow to get a calf, but maybe that's where we are failing.  Maybe we should give the cow more credit in what she is capable of and breed her accordingly.  I hope you find something that works.

She looks just like a cow I once had.  FR Magic on her produced two incredible calves, both a Bull and Heifer.  Using similar genetics today, I would breed her to ZNT Montego Bay.

Maineevent - I am pretty sure you have some Montego Bay in your tank.  Montego Bay have a very similar pedigree to I-80.

Monopoly Money has thrown some bigger framed calves that I have seen. I think she kinda needs power. If you want to kick it old school, Try Strictly Business on her. I have seen some bigger one and onlys as well. If she worked with 1-80, try ALI 2  on her

WOW!  Super genetics in this cow.  Wahoo, Red Knight, Ice Pick, JMP Hallmark and Pannell Miss 4072 all give her the possibility to pass on added frame and power.  I say if you want to hit a Home Run, get a few straws of FR Magic 179.  If you wish to go for as good as possible on a limited budget, I would stay with ZNT Montego Bay

If you don't want to go Maine, I'd definitely go purebred or halfblood clubby Charolais on her for the part of the world your in.

You could certainly have a pretty good bet for getting a halfblood female to then go on and make steers with.  I'd really use any of Kris Blacks PB bulls or some of the other HooDoo bloodlined bulls out there.

If you really want a steer, you almost have to have the Heatseeker-Heat Wave influence somewhere which is where Solid Gold and such come in.

Thank you, AAOK she was my first show heifer back in 2006. Chambero I have tried Maine and Angus and like I said I-80 is what has worked. So we went ahead and bred her back I-80. She is in the classifieds as I am trying to get younger cows in the herd. AAOK here's a mother cow I own what do you think of this pedigree # 378389.
