Thanks,
Lil Raymond Doreck-DSC

Heifers count?

Just like it should be, heads in the feed pans, standing like they are showing.

The Angus heifer is RTM Lolita, raised by us and shown by Jorli Hauge, class winner most every time out including MN Beef Expo, Badger and THE NATIONAL JUNIOR ANGUS SHOw  in Denver a couple weeks ago.  The Char heifer is our daughters, Grand or Reserve 2 out of the 3 times she showed her.

The day we brought him home. He has only been gone a few days and she really misses him. ( I do too)

Here is probably the best steer we have bred and raised. He is an Ali X Heat Wave and was a many time champion in Minnesota. <cowboy>

We've fed one steer.  I never showed calves in my life, but we got plenty of help last year from some really good folks (quite a bit of advice from steerplanet members as well.)  But.... despite our inexperience we got our hands on a good steer last year and my kids did a good job feeding him out.  My daughter made the premium sale at our county show, and stood 3rd in her class at OYE with him.  He was a nice calf.

He won breed champ Limi at 3 shows last year, and won his class 5 times.  Despite being ornery on occasion, he loved my daughter (meaning he showed like a perfect gentleman for her) and was a terrific first steer project for her.  We feel really fortunate to've had the opportunity to feed him.
