Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. Happy Easter to all a day early. All of the days are tough with some days tougher. Keaton is making progress slowly and showing great strength and will. He is still in ICU and still requiring support via ventilator to give his respiratory system time to heal. He does his PT willingly even though it is very hard work and can wipe him out. I will try to periodically update here, but caringbridge.com is the place to follow his daily progress. Thanks to all for your support.brent and Joni C.

Thank you all more than you can know. Update. Keaton was extibated off of the ventilator Tuesday 9:30 am. Since that event he has made extremely great progress towards his return home to continue his recovery. He has done very well with his physical therapy. Has been outside yesterday and in the gym for a short workout this am. We won't know his final results for sometime but are so grateful to have the blessing that we have received so far. Keaton has turned a huge corner and his attitude has been overall good through this traumatic injury recovery process. This year has been a record year for anhydrous ammonia related injuries this spring associated with agriculture. The anhydrous rush is pretty much done in southern Iowa for this season but not even started in NE Iowa so please be extremely careful and deliberate in your thoughts and actions while doing what we all grow too careless around when we need to be more alert and diligent. Take it from me anhydrous ammonia is very life threatening and can be fatal especially if inhaled to say nothing of the other risks of blindness and serious chemical burns to your body. When you are getting keyed up and think that you can't / aren't getting enough done that is the exact time to take a breath and to tell yourself to slow down. There is a tomorrow to be around to work. Again, thank you all for your prayers and support through this trying time for our family and other trying times in the past. Please take a second to squeeze your kids a tell them how much they mean to you. You never know when the phone may ring as too many of you well know. Keaton Christensen's family, Brent Joni, Nichole, & Brooke.

Positive thoughts your way. Such sensitive and delicate tissue takes time to heal. Good to hear that progress is being made. (angel)

Brent, I personally know the incredible power of Believers' Prayer. Our God is healer and deliverer. I just lifted Keaton up in Prayer, and your family as well, trusting our Savior.

Keep us all informed.

Thank you all again. Words cannot express how we feel about all of the support and prayers that have been sent our way. To say the very least it is and has been overwhelming!! Joni called this morning with great news. If no unforeseen concerns come up overnight Keaton will be discharged tomorrow morning and be headed to home to continue his recovery. He has been working very hard each day to make progress and has had great success these last 5 days. One of his best pieces of workout equipment is a device called a spirometer. It is a device that is made to help his lungs expand. Not a fun tool to use but very important to his recovery at this time. He is working on mastering stair steps in the gym so that he can get to his bedroom which is downstairs. He loves that bed and cool air. Again thanks & please keep us in your thoughts, hearts, & prayers. Your support means so much to us. Sincerely, Keaton, Joni, & Brent C.

Great day yesterday Keaton was discharged from Iowa City and it was so good to have him back home. He has slept well and has a doctors appointment today in Clarinda. His recovery has been remarkable since he was extibated a week ago today. He has some work ahead of him, but his attitude has been overall good and we are so blessed to have the opportunity to help him get back to his life. Thanks again to all of you for your support through thoughts and prayers. This boy was & is in God's hands as we all are everyday. Brent & Joni C.
