Well, I guess we can call her bred to the bull we took her to    This is KVH Macho, bought at the 2008 Collins Exposure sale that was 2009 South Central Simmental Classic Foundation Female Champion  ;D Her official due date, verified by the vet (who was obviously wrong) was September 30th (285 days). We are now three weeks later and she finally looks like she is ready to lay down and have that heifer (also verified by the vet -hope he is right on that one!).
What do you think? Her udder looks pretty good for a Macho (dam is an angus x maine from Herring ranch). Just wish she would hurry up and have the calf! It would have been an In Dew Time, but I guess not anymore! I am just happy she got bred....

BTW - the "white" on her in the lower pic is flyspray we just put on her, and she is walking funny because of the rocks  :-\

nice female, hell of a tank, i can see why you want the calf out of her, she looks like she would be greatly mated to IDT, we used alot of him on our big stout, big middle simmis and love how he mated up with them. IMO breed her back to IDT
either way i bet it'll be a nice calf out of her
if you think it could still possibly be her AI calf that is born get it parent verified, someone could have messed up the records or got printed wrong in the catalog -- we're all human aren't we and can make mistakes

I've seen vet preg checked dates as far off as 2 months.  Just this spring, mom and dad checked 3 heifers, one 3 mo, one 4 mo, and one 5 mos when I wasn't home....  all three calved within 5 days of the 3.5 month range back when they were checked...

If you've ever had your hand up a cow for preg checking...  It can be rather hard.  If I remember correctly from my days of JuCo..  during the 4-6 month stage, the calf is so far down, you can't even feel it.. just the blood vessels on the pelvic...  Anymore, I don't worry about dates when I preg check cows...  Just looking for the bouncing ball to dribble and call them bred.  Let them calve whenever they calve.  Nature knows best, don't rush them at calving time, unless they are in distress.

She was ultrasound at "89" days bred (post AI date). We AI'd her ourselves. We do not own a bull, but wanted to make sure she was covered so sent her out a few weeks after. Vet confirmed her bred date, and said he was 70% sureit is a heifer.  So, we wait. She will calf when she is ready. We saw the baby moving tonight so I know all is still good. I am just upset that she did not seem to take to the AI bull. We will DNA just in case (wishful thinking.....)?!

Probably not safe to the AI.  Our In Dew Times seem to come a few days early.  Nice, deep bodied Macho.  I love them and have several in production.  We used Olie instead of IDT on them.  Nice udders and lots of milk.  Good luck with her.  Hard to miss with ultra sound.  Maybe your vet is on a learning curve.

She's FINALLY here! She calved this morning all by herself! (clapping)  A large (87 lbs) HUGE boned heifer calf (at least the vet was right about that!). The bull is a half blood, so the calf is also a half blood (cow is half blood). At least we have a live, sucking, vigorous calf!!! There is no way this is a AI calf, since the heifer was taken to the bull January 1st, and if I look back on the gestation table she would have been bred around January 11th.
Oh well...
