Hello! As breeding season rolls around I start thinking about breeding. DUH! I have a 7 year old purebred angus cow. She's deep sided, awesome feet, and massive. She needs a touch of body and bone. What are your opinions with bulls. I'm staying away from the clubby bulls.
Thanks much!

If you decide to stay Angus, look into SCC First-N-Goal GAF 114 from Select Sires. This bull really adds rib and bone! His calves should start appearing at shows this year. I feel that he would mate very well with that cow.

Yf you are talking about power, performance and all the rest that goes with it look at Young Dale Xcaliber 32X.  He is available for around $ 50.00 a vial.  Here is a copy of their bull sale catalogue so you can see for yourself:http://issuu.com/pdrneepawa/docs/bull_sale_catalogue_2014_for_web2_r?e=2717029/7112850

For a maternally orientated bull, that will give you bone and body.  You will get a true 50/50 blood calf.  Heterosis at it's best.

I wonder what the birthweights and ease of delivery are that got him a -10 CED epd.

Yes indeed, BlkAngus, I would not use this bull on a cow that will have trouble pushing out a 95 pounder. Our four by this bull all came unassisted at 105, 95, 90, and 90 pounds. The rest of our Angus calves came between 65 and 85 pounds. That being said, they are very impressive calves next to the herd mates in terms of style and mass.
