Laura and I are excited to share the updates on our bull, Peer Pressure.  Due to the persistence of Doug Wenell, from Iowa, we contacted the breeder of Peer Pressure.  Bill Frauenholtz was excellent in helping us get everything we needed.  Now the blanks in Peer Pressure’s registration are filled in.
As many are aware, Peer Pressure is a Dr. Who son.  As advertised, his dam is out of Limit Up.  But this is where it gets tricky.  Limit Up is now owned by Kris Black, but was previously owned by Bill Frauenholtz.  While owned by Bill, the registered name was Sako Exterminator- ASA# 2055722.  Sako Exterminator is a Meyer 734 son.  According to the Black Hereford ranch website, Limit Up is described as the “stoutes made, biggest topped and coolest looking Meyer son we’ve ever seen!”  This makes Peer Pressure a Foundation Simmental Sire- ASA# 2545503.
On the bottom side of his dam is DXM Ricochet, a purebred Maine. AMAA# 159801.  This qualifies Peer Pressure as a Mainetainer Sire.  AMAA# 408734.
Peer Pressure has tested clean on all 5 of the required genetic defect tests.  THF, PHAF, NHF, AMF, CAF. His parentage has also been verified by DNA.  Peer Pressure is also registered as a Chi.  We are working with the three organizations to get the online information corrected, now that everything is verified.
The reports on his first calf crop were good.  The birth weights were low and the calves were very vigorous in getting going.  We believe that Peer Pressure will be a maternal type bull.  He is siring the big tops and smooth front ends that people are looking for in their heifers, along with that deep sweeping rib and smooth walking stride.  If we have enough interest, we will have sexed semen available next spring.  Many distributors have semen or you can contact us directly. We are thinking about having a year- end crazy special on our current inventory!
If you have any questions, give us a call.  330-201-5579.

Could you update us on if and when you have your end of the year semen sale. I would love to get some more! Can't wait to see my calf in March!

OK, so I am a bit confused. I looked up on ASA web site, and the registration number for Peer Pressure shows no link to SAKO Exterminator, who is a Meyer son and 1/2 blood Simmental. The dam side of Peer Pressure goes back to a 1/2 blood simm, but no name (bottom side is empty). Peer Pressure is listed as a 1/4 commercial Simmental, and no link to Meyer. Have they not updated the pedigree yet?
Thanks for clarifying...

We must have the original Chi papers corrected before the Maine and Simmental organizations updtae their online information.  The Maine registration is the closest as of right now.  I hope to have this all resolved this week.  It just takes time.
