Only useless in terms of efficiency.  I can do it better and in a more efficient way.  They do swell up, but to what...moosh?  For what I want to get out of the hulls I just can't get that out of the pellets.

Jill I would say hulls and pulp do have a place in a grower to promote spring of rib. Also a pound or two of hulls a day definitely adds a safety factor in the ration.

We have pelleted hulls in our grower rations and they are on free choice hay, we don't add any beet pulp or cottonseed until they are right at the year point and being shown heavy, I want them eating as much as I can push in them and while those make great fillers, they limit the amount of feed intake.
