Phoenix area for cattle

Do people raise cattle near Phoenix, Scottsdale?

There are of course a lot of Dairy Cattle in that area, but as far as commercial beef operations, I don't believe so.

I'm no expert by any means, but I don't believe it is economically feasible due to availability of feed.  I believe it is more economical to ship the beef than to ship the feed.

I have some heifers for sale in Yuma which is 3hrs away from Phoenix.

I don't know about Phoenix but here are some cattle we saw in western Arizona. They must be pretty hardy out there!
