Pics of BSE and my daughter

My daughter, 15, works at a vet clinic (her choice- she wants to be a vet). She sold one of her bulls while at Ozark Empire Fair (the bull in my avatar, and the ONE time exhibiting cattle paid off for us!), so she had to get him in to do a breeding soundness exam. She got to perform this herself, since the bull came in while she was at work (of course, she made the appointment for him  (thumbsup) ). Anyway, I took some pics today of her and the vet doing the exam for her FFA books and 4-H records. His semen was excellent, and he was tested for Trich. He is only 17 months old, but with Trich being ramped in SW MO, I test all the bulls we sell to make the customer happy.
I just think it is cool all the opportunities she is getting exposed to being in the beef business! She has AId all of our cattle (when she is home and not on FFA trips!), and is taking college courses as a junior this year in school. I fully believe it is the farm life that we live that allows my children to be hard workers and become something in life. This thought goes in line with what we are talking about int he Bred And Owned thread AJ started. I am one proud Mom!!!

When I first saw the title of this thread, I wondered where you'd found something with mad cow disease (bovine spongiform encepholpathy) to take pictures with - sure glad I was wrong!  I'm glad to see your daughter taking advantage of those kind of opportunities.

I work with a vet too....my 17th birthday present from him was getting to replace and suture a vaginal prolapse on a feed lot heifer!    <rock>
