I know that cows can abort calves when they are heavy bred if they eat Ponderosa pine needles. I have some heavy bred commercial cows that got out in the night and did a number on my tree farm. The trees are mostly blue scotch pines. Could they be at risk of aborting or are they safe?

I have never heard of Scotch Pines being a problem. I know Ponderosa's are though. We had some friends from BC visiting that had natural growing Ponderosa and they just about had heart palpitaions when they saw I had planted three in the front yard!

I just found out that there were a few blue spruce in there too. Could they be a problem?
