When I was a vet tech, we had a commercial Hereford breeder try the pinkeye vaccine implants.  They worked really well.  He runs around 400 cows and we treated probably 175 the year before he started implanting.  The year he started using the implants, I think we only treated 10 or so.

There are vaccines, but there are also different strains of pinkeye as well

I think Pfizer makes the one I've seen most (I think Valley Vet carries it).  I'm not sure if that's the one he used.  That was the first I had seen.    Solidose or Solidbac is the name I think.  Basically it's 2 pellets-- one disolves immediately, the other disolves around 2 weeks later.  Basically you've given one dose and a booster without running them through the chute twice.

What antibiotics are people using once they have pinkeye besides LA-200 or Draxxin?  Draxxin works but expensive and LA-200 isn't working the best this year.  Yes we vaccinate but the one we used that was developed for our county isn't working.  THANKS

We use LA-200 along with penicillin soothed in the eye and under the eyelid. Then we'll stick a patch over the eye. Has worked well for us.

The best treatment for gentle cattle like show stuff that is easy to catch and you  can catch with a halter is to get a dry cow tube not a wet cow tube and squirt a little in the eye every day for afew days. For regular  pasture cattle that you dont want to treat everyday use LA 200 and glue a patch over the eye .you can buy patchs or use a piece of old blue jeans and get some k mar glue or some tag glue from the stockbarn. Remember if you use LA 200 it will leave big knots on your cattle.
