On Monday while trimming feet something I'd done a million times before I got kicked in the face while tiring a heifers front feet down. It wasn't a hard kick by anyone's standards later that night at the age of 32 I suffered a stroke as a direct result of that blow. I was lucky I still have function of my left side but it's numb but I do have very limited vision in my left eye. BTW she kicked me on my right side. I know just like many of you sometimes we get complacent while working around the show stock and let our guards down but not any more. So for the next 6 months to a year I'm in therapy twice a week and hopefully I will regain my sight so I can drive. Just be careful and on your toes please.

Sorry to hear about that. Hope everything works out ok.
I know what you mean tho. I had a cow in the squeeze chute and squeezed up. As I walked from the front to the back and walked past the handle , she moved and the handle released (has never happened again) nad hit me in the side of the face knocking a tooth out.

We do get complacent. I got kicked in the face while clippping a calf. It knocked me out but luckily no other damage than a few stitches. Stay positive.
