We took my daughter's steer to a show on Saturday. Starting Tuesday afternoon, he stopped eating his feed and hasn't ate any since - which is completely out of character for him. Yesterday he had a snotty nose and a lot of saliva coming from his mouth - temp was 105.6. Called the vet - he gave me banamine and baytril, both of which I administered last night around 7pm. This morning he still didn't show any interest in his feed - but he is eating hay and drinking some. He started with scours this morning also. I also gave him probios last night to help. This is making me really nervous.

My question is, how long should I wait (trying to give the meds time to work) until I call the vet back? How long should it take for him to start eating again? Thank you to everyone and anyone who will reply!!

Is his fever down any today? If he isn't any visibly improved this pm, id give the vet a call again in the morning.

I plan on taking his temperature this afternoon when I get home.
