Thank you everyone for the suggestions, it gives me a lot to think about! I will let you know what we decide to do with her in the coming months!

Out of "some of the above" I do. Blue book looks like the best choice on her by pedigree to me-the old line bred Enticer really worked on the dual cows of the early 90s and thats basically what she is. O0

Hey everyone, I just thought I'd bring this back with a picture of her current Manimal heifer calf born March 2. She's growing like a weed, and is rather growthy in person. For the first month or so I hated her, and my initial thought was "what have I done..." but she has turned it around and surprised me! I bred the cow to Big Sky on May 29, so fingers crossed for another heifer next March!

Update: This year's heifer calf by JDMC Big Sky... we've been very pleased with her so far, and she's outgrowing everything else on the ground. I have heard from a number of sources that the Bonanza cattle just don't quite grow, but the dam is a big cow so I think that's making up for it.

Thought I'd give an update on these calves. Again, the white heifer is by HP Manimal 1C, and the roan heifer is a JDMC Big Sky 15X. The white heifer was limit-fed 5lbs grain per day through winter with free choice hay. She's pictured at 16 months next to a 3 yr old Holstein x Studer's Jazz Man cow for size reference.

The roan heifer is pictured about a week past 6 months.

My phone pics are apparently too big, so I'm sorry these are going to be 1 per post
