There are A:OT of Buster daughters-bull was used heavily. I meant the Tieman Leader-Proud Jazzez Sire g-sire etc, or any of the old blood. Eagle 148 was out of a Chuck O Luck Real Silver daughter -who like Enticer had some maine in him and looked it.  O0

Thoughts on the phenotype? Mostly Australian blood with a little Canadian/American influence from Gus and Cruickshank.
This is one of two Australian bulls we will be bringing to Canada. This guy has just had all his DNA testing completed and he is THF,DSF,PHAF and myostain free. Jaimie was totally impressed when she saw this guy as was Shortybreeder when he saw him. We are pretty excited about what he brings. He is out breeding now but he should be collected for semen to arrive in the fall 2017.

Interesting bull, and pedigree.

I picked up some of Okotoks Lord Belmore to try the Kookaburra line, and sure wouldn't hesitate to try his cross in the above bull either. I'm hesitant to flush to bulls I haven't seen work on my cow lines though.

I'm excited to try that bull once he arrives in the fall. I could try Lord Belmore on her this year and flush her to Belmore Roger if it works. I do like the Buster 14k, but there are some embryos for sale that are similarly bred so I may as well go that route and try flushing her another way. Thanks for everyone's input, and if anyone has any other ideas I'm still interested!

I havent had much luck with Australian bulls. The best looking cow Ive seen from there was Sprys Prophets Carnation-who had Sprys Cyclone-still one of the best looking Aussie bulls Ive seen. If anyone out there has cows that nick with Australian-I have some Cyclone Id sell. O0

4508 will probably make cows too small for what folks like in Canada. 034 could work for making replacement females. Won't blow you away power wise though. Gauge would be a good choice to me. I'd be cautious with goldenrod if your cow is a heavy milker. JDMC Big Sky. He had a big BW, through the dam side but he's proving out to calve fine for my tastes. Big Sky is my favorite walking bull right now. Semen is 50 a straw at minimum I believe but well worth it for a flush. Another white Bonanza son would be the Manimal bull.

I like the look of that Big Sky bull too, and it doesn't look like his calves are coming too big. Who has semen rights on him? She is actually due to Manimal in about 3 weeks here, so we will see how that works on her.

X-Bar, he hadn't received any grain supplements, they just had a really good grass season. He's also out in his "working clothes" in the picture--he was the best conditioned bull on the place. His paternal half-sisters were in the best condition across the place, so they're easy-keeping genetics. I'm looking forward to trying him once Okotoks brings semen over.

Keep me posted on Manimal-I liked him real well as a calf-AND NOT VERY WELL AT ALL  when he was pictured at the national JR Show-but the pasture photos prior when he was in the field looked good. Hes different enough that he may really work on her semi dual breeding O0

I am really liking my calves from HC Bluebook 22B. Both sexes are thick with good hindquarters. We only had 8 last spring but in every case I think his calves are better than the cows they come out of.  Bluebook has tremendous length as well and is very easy fleshing which he gets from his dam. I have two full sisters to Bluebook in our herd and both are the same way. I have attached a picture of Bluebook at the 2016 Royal Winter Fair where he was Reserve Grand and weighed 2465 lbs after breeding cows all summer.  Also have attached a picture of a couple sons we are selling on March 7th in the Sun Country sale.  The first is HC Destiny 71D, who is a May materal brother to HC Cruiser 59C who topped the Sun Country sale last spring at $16,500. The second bull is a late March out of a DF Pure Gold dam. Both these bulls are thick with guts and butt and have great feet and legs. Several people have said that Bluebook has the best feet they have seen on a bull in many years.

Xbar it is good he looks like he has been "fed well" because that is one of the main reasons Jaimie picked him out! When Jaimie was there last April they had been in a very severe drought for months and he was the bull in the pens that still looked good in spite of negligble grass! When shortybreeder visited a few months later and a wet spring had broken the drought this is what he looked like on grass out in the breeding pasture. We think Belmore Roger H37 will compliment our current breeding progarm and we will have the North American breeding rights on this bull.(photo taken by shorthybreeder)

That's a hell of a bull and I would absolutely use him but I can't help but question how do you have any idea how the bull was fed outside of what I would assume was a short visit?  I mean maybe If you reply back telling me he's a frame score 3,, --  I'll stop there but I've got say that steer planet constantly presents me an internal conflict between attempting to get newcomers to read between the lines and not pissing everybody off.  So whether it's JIT telling people how easy calving these cow killers are or it's somebody saying a six frame 2500 pound bull in a bcs of 8+ maintained that form in a severe drought,  I just can't sit idly by and not speak up.  Everything we talk about on here represent dollars and somebody's hard ass work they put in to make that money. With that said, in my opinion, there's no room for even the slightest exaggeration.

X Bar, your concerns are valid, but like I had said, it was a really good grass season, probably the best in a very long time. Nearly everything on the place was fat, he was just the fattest. I'm not sure why they would have bothered feeding him when they couldn't use up the grass they were getting. True I was only at Belmore for 4 or 5 days, but I got the sense they were like most other operations in Australia with a focus on minimum inputs. I was there at the end of November, and they'd been getting record rainfall for months on end. I don't think anyone was saying he maintained that level of condition in a drought--which it certainly wasn't during my visit--but he wasn't getting fed like a show bull for the sake of looking good.

I think the third picture of the bull tells the story. The grass in Australia is very similar to type and growth rates that we experience on the west coast.  If you look the grass is turning color so, to me this indicates the end of there grass season at which point the cattle should be at there peak condition for the year.  In addition,  the grass in the picture is really short compared to what would be expected indicating that the plant residue was stressed at some point.  The bull himself looks more like a bcs of 7.  I think people are trying to be honest on here and i know JIT says his cattle are calving ease for him which is all he can do is tell you his experience. I used JPJ for years on heifers no issues and averaged 75 lbs birth weight and recommend him to another breeder whom had major issues and averaged 120lbs bw.  Your own cow herd, management and environmental conditions make up the majority of the issues not just the herdsire.
