Hi all -- I just got a call from a local rancher who has been toying with the idea (After years of prompting by me) of putting together a pen full of recip cows to be used for customer embryos, and then SOLD to the customer at 60 days pregnancy.
I ran by him the option of also calving out a bunch, and he declined giving the reasons of winter management and calving etc. He is all for getting a GOOD set of nice sized cows together, not too many to start with, but would go with the demand for them.
I'd like to see who -- if any - of you out there would be interested. I think the price will be right, the health and everything else will be good, and I do trust this cattleman. Known him for years and years.
I get alot of calls for recoips every year -- and sadly we just don't have any to offer -- THIS may be the ticket. Remember -- ho doesn't want to keep the cows, he'll get them, use YOUR embryos from your donors to get them pregnant and unltra sounded safe, and then she goes home to you.
If there is enough response, we can get this in motion quickly enough for THIS years transfers to be done. Time is of the escense -- so if you know of any one -- or are yourself -- contact me here and I will put you in touch with him. Again, he is a good cattleman, knows the business, also raises some clubby cattle with good sucess.
There you have it -- make the phone ring or write me here if you are interested. I will be doing the transfers and/or flushes is she is resident. This could get exciting and be fun as well!
