we have a 2nd year calfin heifer. last year she kept her calf always by her side. and now this year she has a very darn good heifer calf but she will hide it in some timber to go across the field to the pond and than lose her and than the calf tries to get out to find her momma any ideas on how to get this cow to keep her calf with her all the time all my others have and never have had this problem before also we have a show cow that we are wantin to show as a cow calf pair this year has an excellent calf ut everytime she sees someone come into the pasture she takes her calf with her and high tails it to the back of the 90 acre pasture
any help will be greatly appreciated

Try and put the two pairs in a smaller pasture. That way the cow that loses her calf can't roam so far and the high tail-er will get used to people in the pasture with her and her calf.

We have about a 10 cow/ calf pairs and we rotate pasture  and they are in very small paddocks. This allows us to get close to the cows and calves.

Good Luck!

How old is the calf?  If it is pretty new, this is normal behavior.    Electric fence off part of the pasture to keep her close for now.  I bet she'll get over this in a few weeks.  Especially if you feed her everytime you go out.
