I just wanted to post a couple pictures from our county fair. My girls had a good one and we are very proud of them and their hard work.

First is my daughter with her steer that we bred and raised and was Reserve Grand Champion, he was sired by One & Only and was out of one of one of our PB Hereford cows.

Second is my daughter with her Grand Champion Bred and Fed pig, that we purchased from one of the local breeders.

Great job!

I really don't know the first thing about pigs, but I like the One And Only steer.  I think that is the first one that I have seen out of a Hereford cow.  I really like that one!

I think it is really cool to read about families that are able to win with one that they raise.  You should be proud, and not just of your kids.  You should be proud of yourself and the direction that you are taking your herd!

Congratulations.

Here is a couple other calves that I sold to some young men that are in our county, this was their first year with steers. They did an incredible job with the calves.

1st is a Two Tone calf  and was Reserve Grand Bred and Fed.

2nd is a Deadliest Catch calf and he stood 1st in his class and was in the grand drive.

Hey Mntman, those clubby/hereford cross calves looked great.  Just curious on the Two Tone, did the nice hereford Mama settle him down?  We had a Two Tone, and a friend had three others that were sooooo mean, wild eyed, kicking, take you out Mexican Bull fighting style, we had to get rid of all of them.

We had 3 Two Tones and 2 of them went for show calves, both were fine I never really messed with the 3rd one he didn't make the cut for what I want to sale and represent my ranch, but that was not because of his attitude. The other one that my daughter showed was a nice enough steer but we never really got him to bloom. He stood 3rd in his class, but he did have a wild eye to him but never showed a mean bone in his body, my 6 year old could lead him around.
