So proud of my 7 yr old daughter. She had Grand Champion steer at our county fair for the 2nd year in a row with home raised steers. Her reserve champion feeder calf last year came back to win the champion title. He is a Smilin Bob x Dream On calf. She also showed the Grand Champion Feeder calf this year for the 3rd year in a row.

Was this steer on a south wall of the beef barn?  Of the south barn.  If this is the one I remembered he was my pick to win the show!  Congrats!

That is fantastic!  Raise your own, and he goes wire to wire.

We don't have the resources to raise our own.  I can't imagine how good that must feel.

Congratulations, and great job managing him all the way through!  He looks better as a fat steer than he did as a feeder.  That is good management!

I would be driving everyone I know crazy showing that one off!

Your steer was laying down.  Weighed 1365 I believe. Looked them all over and waited to see if he would get up.  Told the spouse that guy was going to win the show.  Nice steer and we have raised some of our own to success and there is nothing better than that!  Good luck and will see what you have in the show next year!

Herfluvr you were wrong. That steer weighed 1375 and ended up reserve champion. That steer was one that we sold though. Guess we were right when we picked last fall.  As the one we kept won.
