I got a group of cows and heifers in today to pull cidrs. I pulled a cidr out of one of my heifers and the end of it was covered with stuff that looked like a thicker made banana pudding. after I pulled the cidr some continued to come out of her vagina. Any idea what it is? Is it possibly a infection inside her?

I will defer to someone with more experience, but it sounds like it to me......  Not sure I would run a high dollar straw of semen up that one!

Vaginitis.  Not uncommon - especially with re-used CIDRS, but can occur with 'fresh' new ones.
Have seen a paper, sometime in the last year or so, where they used an OB lube containing chlorhexidine(Nolvasan) disinfectant  to lubricate the CIDR & applicator gun at insertion, and had fewer problems with vaginitis, and, IIRC, about a 9% increase in pregnancy rate, compared to CIDRs lubed with plain old OB lube presumably due to less vaginal infection.

It was a fresh cidr. I have put in 40-45 cidrs and never  have seen this before so it puzzled me. Would you still A.I Her then?

Happened to one of my heifers also. My AI tech said a medicated mineral will take care of it.

I'd breed her.  Even if she doesn't stick to that service, you still won't know if it was because of vaginitis or...she just didn't conceive.
If she comes back in, in 17-23 days, breed her again; any residual infection should be gone by then.

Vaginaitis the body does what it can to rid itself of a foreign substance,  novas an a idea,  clean is the issue, the changing of the ph of the vagina is your concern, use the sheaths that are in a plasic cover, don't pull them off till you are at the cervix.  My experience for what it's worth
