We are probably going to get very aggressive with weed control in our pastures next spring.  We have the appropriate herbicide applicator licenses for Texas, but I'm looking for options to purchase herbicides, particularly Grazon P+D, at discounted prices.  Does anyone know of any legitimate mail order or online dealers?

Call your extension office or USDA/NRCS office.  Locally, we have our conservation district collect orders so that we get a "Bulk discount".......alway get a better price on big orders.

Our NRCS office in town has helped with grass seed and fish of all things, but have never offered to for herbicide.  I'll check on that.

2nd on that cowz, our NRCS does the same thing, as well as for projects for the conservation district.  if they don't do it, there should be an avenue to do it within the structure of the RCD, who also should act as a clearing house for exactly this type of operation.  we are doing it as a pilot project to streamline the permitting process.  takes a little longer in the beginning, but it may be worthwhile.

Try to take a look @ wickmanchemical.com. I know the owner well & half of the staff. Very good people to deal with. Good luck. Cab

A NRCS RC&D person is a WONDERFUL resource.  Ours just found a grant for a small town to build a new library....so they can do a lot of things outside the scope of conservation.

Would the discount be offset by cost of shipping?  Since it is hazardous it would have an extra charge.
