What's you guys' opinions for market steers? Do you buy older cattle that you can finish early, or do you like to feed younger cattle that you can hopefully get fat in time for market shows? Please add reasoning for your decisions. Thanks
i dunno, but i like to bring them along slow. i think its easier on them when it comes to haveing a clean front end and avoiding structure issues from being to fat at an early age.
on the other hand if i had one that i know is going to be a little bigger frame, then i like to faten them up earlier so they dont grow to tall. but then again the protein helps build bone and muscle, i guess it depends a lot on the animal and the target show.
