Has anyone used PVF Insight what calf ratio did you have. We've have a ratio of 22 bulls to 4 heifers.

I haven't used him yet but I am curious, what do you think of your calves so far? That is a pretty high ratio of bulls!

I had three bulls this year, two flushmates and one single birth. We were heavy on our simmi bull calves this year but we do like them. Going to sell them as bulls. They are correct in their structure, smooth jointed, deep bodied, and still have enough shape to them.

I used 5 units in 2015, stuck 4, had 2 of each sex this spring. Really like them all. Those calves just keep getting better as they get older IMO. I wouldn't call him exactly heifer safe but he can be used on heifers successfully if you ck your heifers regularly.

Used  1 straw got one heifer calf.  She's ok but has worse feet than her mother.  Not impressed by that part.

FYI you're calf isn't the only one...I'll just leave it at that.  (pop)

Used a few times for the last two years.

0 - bulls
5 - heifers
missed on one heat

Fortunately, my son named his operation Noble Farm, as in no-bull farm. We also have a much better market for heifers than bulls.

Love the calves! Everyone has been a keeper and three of the best four heifers we've raised were Insights.
