good evening. A couple questions about MAB calves.  I was wondering what he adds to the calves? downsize, upsize or consistent to the cow? Also how do they come?

I have a foreplay cow that this will be her 4th calf and I need a bull that will add just a little bit more muscle bigger butt. This past year she had an I80 calf but would like to add more dimension to the calf.  Based on what you guys know what do you think about this cross.  MAB x Foreplay cow??????

Thanks

We have 24 MABs this year.  I think we had 12 last year but I can't remember.

We've used him on pretty much everything but a Hereford and a Charolais.  Last year we pulled calves out of him.  This year only if there was a foot or head back.  Had 1 breech born ua.

He is adding quite a bit of power pretty much across the board.  We have a few out of big old Playboy cows that are bigger framed and aren't quite as thick but the rest of them are moderate, soft, thick, and hairy.

I wouldn't hesitate to use him on a Foreplay cow.  Our best MABs are out of older Maine based cows and 734 daughters/granddaughters.  The MABs here don't have super freaky fronts.  They are shorter fronted and have a bit of shoulder.  But with the hip they have I'm fine with it.

All the MAB calves I have been around are super stout just don't have the length of body... If you had some long bodied brut cow's would work the best... OH and MAB steer I custom clipped 2 weeks ago was the hairiest steer I had ever seen not be in a cooler!
