When people refer to a steer or heifer being stout, this that another term for thick? If not could you please explain?

We had a thread a while back of terms people use.

Stout is thick muscled and usually boned. there were a few more unusual terms in that thread. I should try to bring it back to the top.

Stout is a description from the ground up. Stout made, constructed, boned. Or stout in his foundation. But it can be used in a different context by anybody, in a set of reasons its referring to bone, but in the barn someone saying that 1 is stout, could mean muscle, bone or even just that he's really good and can stand a lot of competition.

I see stout most often used as an open ended compliment.. Somthing that they say stout- you think stout where you want stout...  bone, thickness, headed, foot, ability to stand competition.. just as whoever above  me said it...  Stout alone, can be very open...  Personally, I'd prefer talking, and hearing stout where.. stout boned?  stout ended?  I guess that's JuCo judging come out in me...

Where did u judge in JUCO, Blackhawk?

no i judged at lakeland, under jonny the great- who's aproaching retirement from the team.  I'm about to graduate from Western, where a blackhawk alumni is coaching as well.  I did not judge here, but spent quite a bit of time around the team
