We are trying to raise funds for an open class beef show to be held on our fairgrounds this summer. Our fairboard has donated $500, as has our local salebarn. I have received a few other donations and will be possibly receiving a few more but am still a little short of what is needed to put on our show. Our community is also getting very tired of being hit up for donations. Does anyone have any other ideas to come up with funds.

Hit up the different feed companies or cattle supply companies unless you want to keep it local.

I would contact a number of the show cattle producers in your area.  Around here they are the major contributors to Jackpot shows.

I'm in the local community AG Boosters, and we put on a "Learning Day" each May, it for all the local kids to come and show prior to the county fair, the animals are judged but the kids are also given direction and feed back from the judges. We run 2 rings and get ring sponsors, champion sponsors and the like. The ring sponsors and we purchase a banner stating the that ring is sponsored by "X company". The local feed stores sponsor prizes for the Champions, we charge an entry fee but all the money goes back to the kids in ribbons, prizes and judges.
Are you a non profit organization? If so find sponsors, make sure everyone is aware of their sponsorship, use banners, signs or something like that. Have early entries, charge more for day of entries, this gives you some money to play with and helps you plan ahead for numbers.
