Okay, I'm trying to keep costs under control but still do a better job this coming year on the boy's 4-H steer than we did last year. We went ahead and invested in a nice blower, but I really don't have the money for brand new clippers. We currently have a set of the Wahl Iron Horse Horse clippers and a set of the Oster Turbo A5 dual speed clippers. I have a set of #5, #10 and #30 blades for this set. The first set is adjustable with your thumb.
Are either set of these going to be enough to be able to clip the steer right? If so, what blade sizes would you recommend. Last year we went to a fitting day before fair and used one of the leaders set for part of it. I really hating borrowing, but not really ready to shell out another $300+ for the big Oster set of clippers just to show the steers at a couple of local shows and the small county fair.
Any advice would be appreciated.
