May have a possible opening in a shares deal that would require me to supply some simmental females. I'm partial to red and pureblood, just starting to look and was wondering what people thought about breeders to get them from, bloodlines etc. Pb only please and they need to be good western cattle.

Not sure about "pureblood" ?  Are you implying there are not any good cattle other than in the west?

No I'm just located in the west and I won't want to go to georgia to pick up a few head of cows. When I say purebred I just don't want any of the simangus cattle.

I dont know how far west but in Oregon there is this, they look like a solid program (started in 80's) though I have no real experience with them  :-\

I would recommend Moser Simmental Ranch in northeastern Kansas. Good cattle...GREAT people. I think they still run some reds as well as blacks, and I'm pretty sure they'd have both purebreds and SimAngus. I don't think you'd be disappointed with the cattle, and they'll treat you right.

Leanbeef..  you are right!  Moser Ranch = good people.    I'd also recommend Hoffmann Simmental in NE KS.    One other one to try would be Peltons.

Wilkinson Simmentals in the Dakotas would be an excellent source of Red Cattle.
