I have not checked in for awhile, since we have been busy with shows and all. We just spent last week at the North Central Regional show, and had a pretty good time. I took a litter of Corgi pups, and sold all but one. Our cattle did pretty good too!
We have a half simm fall heifer, sired by Beef Maker out of a Pioneer first calf Angus. I will toss her birth picture back up to remind those that read the thread, but she was 45 pounds at birth (full term, just small) and had a hard start reaching the nipple. She is a bred and owned for my oldest, Rebekah, but Rebekah traded her for a Montecito heifer that was a month younger but had a temperament not good for young kids. Her younger brother, Seth, owned the Montecito heifer, and they were scared of each other. So, my son shows this half angus heifer, and he loves her! Well, we were so proud that this little 45 pound heifer calf went on to place 3rd in her tough class (the two that beat her were really nice, big heifers). She went on to place 4th in her division! My son was on cloud nine! I will put the pictures up of her getting the division placing (judge shaking his hand) and her at the backdrop.
Our other heifer, a bred and owned April Movin Forward heifer, won 10th bred and owned purebred for my daughter, which made her happy too! Both of her heifers did great!
