Thanks okotoks.
I'm putting old RCM right side up for folks to see. A while back we were talking about how some outcross bulls can still stamp progeny predictably.
RCM has some of that type of prepotency because, even from that drawing, I know his head and the look in his eye. I see that expression on my bull HHFS Amos every day. Amos is an RCM son. I don't know of any others.
Since I moved I'm not using Amos for much. I can't afford the pasture rent here out herd rebuild a very big herd. He's pushing 7 years, but is low mileage from the easy life he's had.
I'm keeping him around mostly as a friend.
If there is a small program out there that has plenty of shade and pasture I'd let him go to a new home.
I gave the semen rights to Roy Lovaas, but he's a good breeder and if you have cows that lack volume or need to come down a frame size without losing much weight, that's what Amos transmits from RCM .
