So my neighbor has about 50 heifers bred to this bull and they are starting to hit the ground, he asked me what I thought he should expect and if the heifer calves would be worth keeping. I don't know anything about the bull other than what they have on the bull description on Select Sires. So have any of you use him and what are your thoughts of his heifers calves?

Huge maternal by his numbers, but geared more towards commercial operations.  Chris Trembles would probably know more.

They are in a commercial operation and I agree totally that he is very maternal, bred to Gelbvieh they could make some pretty nice commercial cows. He is not really my style of bull, but they should slip out super easy.

Very proven calving ease bull.  The calves will be born easily with lots of vigor.  They will grow well, better than your typical angus calving ease bull and keep all of the heifers!  The females by 2X15 are setting the bar for moderate framed easy fleshing females and a lot of the people who used him a few years ago are breeding their entire herds to him, mature cows and heifers, in an effort to get more daughters out of him.  He is the real deal, much like Rockin Horse Tailor Made.  Both of these bulls have seen huge usage via a.i. in the panhandle of nebraska, commercially.  My question is: How can a bull be too commercially oriented?  Who buys the bulls from registered seedstock producers?  It happens all the time, commercial guys will use a bull like 2X15 as a young sire because of his attributes, they like the calves and continue using the bull and then by the time the bull is on his last leg or dead, registered guys start thinking he's a bull they should use. WTF?  ???
