I was going to post this under the Cherokee Canyon post but felt it deserved it's own. His response could potentially save someone a lot of heartache and money.

RW - I just wanted to let you know that your knowledge of the RA is truly appreciated (and amazing)! I know you have answered my questions many times. Given advice that if I would pay for it, it wouldn't be as good.

A big and well deserved THANK YOU!

Hey RW -- ""NOW"" you know how I have felt for the last few  years -- I , as well, take alot for grantid in my every day life, acquired from years of trying new things and learning from those that not only work -- but DON'T work so well.

Congrats -- wish I had read this a couple weeks ago -- one of my good Simmi customers just flushed a Fullblood Fleckvieh to him -- she is huge -- so he was trying to downsize as well as pigmentate the offspring more. His criteria was for performance and carcass triats for the most part.

I would think that Cherokee had some feet problems -- due to some of the same criteria that Powerplant and Cunia did inthe clubby deals. I know have faught tooth and nail to keep some of my best cows sound due to what thy call "Sand Cracks" -- basicly the toes will start to crack from the hair line DOWN --not the reverse. As they age -- they can get so bad in some cases where they will almost have FOUR toes per foot. Not a good thing tohave on range conditions.

We started feeding a higher Zink content in our minerals a few years ago and that seemed to help some. Now I just won't use anything with those bulls close up -- and things are coming around fine.

Congrats pard -- can't wait to meet ya soon -- will be in touch!
