His sire weighed 2270 last year I would expect this guy to be close to that. These cattle keep growing.

Thats a major between the majority of cattle-and the oldschool shorts here and or the irish breeding they dont get there real fast-they just keep going- It would seem 0-60 or Bw to yearling wts they are somewhat behind-Similar to the Irish cattle-who were linebred since Shorthorns existed -My take would be on the cattle I have experienced-Which for the most part just dont follow the same patterns. When I went to Ireland in 1990 it was very similar- tiny hiefers on grass till the age of 3 or 4 to be bred-MAGNIFICENT mature cows that they would become O0

Good observation Mark. What I meant by my statement that these cattle keep growing is that  they don't stop at weaning.Should of clarified that. Our females calve at 24 mo.some younger. There have been a few exceptions like when I eliminated fall calving or a bull went bad but 24 mo. is an important criteria here.

I like this guy!  Soft made, appears to be sound structured, deep sided and showing signs of masculinity at weaning. What is his pedigree? And here in Canada, we seem to be able to sell this color very easily! Very interesting!

Thanks JIT, his registration # is 4272346 who knows maybe roan will become valuable down here some day.//// He would beof interest for Blue Roans and with his breeding that would almost be a given plus the calving ease Hed sell off Craigslist if you put him in a couple areas of  Iowa Western
and other parts of Ill, and Wisconsin-I helped sell around 30 head last winter in Iowa after the drauth-and some were in terrible shape O0

Its a picture. But from that picture, I see a beast that is a commercially relevant working mans bull with a show cattle profile. like him or hate him, JPJ was a different twist with old genetics. Maybe a stout red neck roan with Gary's linebreeding could be could be the ticket on stuff n trumpish bred stock?

Interisting pedigree.
A little bit inbreding added to some old genetics.
