I found this looking through the Rodgers Blog. How much will these bulls likely bring? I really like lot 19 and because people on here talk about whizard calves being good, and he has chrome which I like but it might drive down the price. Also it says he's polled but he looks horned.

They'll be all over the board, some pretty high and a few will be affordable if it's what your're looking for. Lot of dirty pedigrees and pretty small in my opinion.

CC4L, after your comments I had to go look and see the bulls, there are 30 clean bulls out of the 51, and a few of the 21, either did not show the data or were pending. As for size there were a few that seemed on the small size but most were where they should be, 10- 11 months 900-1000, 12 months 1000-1100, 14 months 1300+. I would think out of 30 one could find a bull that would work for them, when looking for a clean bull.

I do like the 19 bull as well.

This is just my opinion on the type of cattle I like. For heifers I would but lot 13 (i believe thats the lot. its an excalibur x heat seeker). and for steers I like lot 35! You dont have to agree, but thats my opinion!

Does anyone find it find of funny that Wade always says "they feel the cow is as equal as the bull etc" so here is a guy always checking out the cow side of the family or the "maternial side", and he is promoting this sale as "maternal bulls", and over a quarter of the bulls are sired by Lautner sires and the other 3/4 are either Griswold or Trausch with a few in there by Witch Doctor and Predator. Only like 1 or 2 bulls in the sale are "Rodgers Sired", yet when he is buying bulls he stresses he focuses a lot on the cows????? I just found some humor in that

Did anyone else think that lot 19 looked horned? I'm not buying one of these bulls because I am only going to be short of a bull for 1 yr(this year) I will buy 2 next spring so Ill just rent for a clean up bull on the ones I do AI this year.

Meaning he is having a sale with like 40 some bulls and only one is sired by his bulls and over a quarter are sired by lautner bulls. Kind of think that speaks true volumes about rodgers bulls whenever he has a bull sale and cant find any worthy to put in the sale sired by his bulls.

I think thats a good thing, means all his sires calves were good enough to go for showsteers

Keep in mind that the bulls represented are not only from Wade Rogers, the first class sales are joint venture by Brad Smith, Nick Reimann Chris Rosa and Wade. As per your other point addressing the fact most of the bulls are in fact not sired by Rogers' bulls you can look at it like this. Most of the bulls promoted by Wade are more of the steer type producing bulls. They go back to heatwave, thus if he were to have a bull sale labeled maternal type bulls with a lot of hw in the pedigree there would likely be a few people on this forum knocking him for putting heatwave and maternal in the same thought process.

Exactly. 80% of those bulls are maternal bred. Almost all of wades bulls are steer bulls.
