I've been told by some to only use when wet, others say only when dry, and some say do both.  ?

I've always rinsed then rice root brush down then forward then blow out till somewhat dry not bone dry then roto brush go back and brush forward sheen an blow out the rest of the way working the hair up. It's always worked great for me constantly working and separating the hair. It seems to me when the hair is wet it's not really separating the hair and when it's dry seem hard on the hair almost pulling especially the long their hair gets. Just my opinion

I have the synthetic brush and was told not to use it dry except on show day to help give the hair that pop you want. We rinse , dry, then spray some sheen or pink oil then use the roto nrush

Thanks for the input.  I've been using the rice roto brush when the hair's wet.  That's what we usually do.  It confused me when people said do it dry?  I figured that would cause the hair to break.
