Rowe feeds

Just looking for some opinions on Rowe feeds. We are thinking about trying it next year on a steer.

We have used Rowe Nutrition for about 8 years now. What kind of information are you looking for?
IMO, the Rowe Jackpot .49 is as good or better than any show feed around. We have fed many show calves this feed, they stay on it, have good bloom, growth, and you can get them fat on it. Keeps them healthy with vitamins and minerals, probiotics that are already present in the feed. Good hair quality on show calves, etc. For the price it is hard to beat. Any specific questions you have?

Rowe is the only type of feed that i will give my calves.i use the jackpot .49 and this past year i mixed it with BHG pellets. it has worked magic on them. i started out with a 400 pound steer and at fair he weighed 1300.i also had another steer that started out at 600 and ended at 1460.i always get compliments on how my calves are always finished by the time that I'm done with them. i highly recommend this brand of feed.

I agree with the previous posts.  We switched to Rowe when the local feed company quit custom grinding.  We have used Rowe feeds and products for three years with great success and at a reasonable cost.  We do have to travel more  to pick up the feed but Gene Rowe gets it to a local central point which is helpful.  Personally, we have also found Gene very responsive to questions and more than willing to offer advice. 

Yeah these posts are right on. I don't believe there is a show feed on the market that can say they are better. The price is much better especially when mixing in the BHG pellets with the .49 Rowe Jackpot. We have never had any issues getting show cattle to grow fast and look great, the feed really helps with hair quality and growth also. I consider Gene a good friend and he has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to cattle nutrition and if he doesn't know, he will find an answer for you.

thanks forthe replies right we are feeding Purina andare looking for something differant mostly because of price. Do any of you add any topdresses or do you feelit has everything you need? My reason for asking is that according tot he Purina experts theyrecommend the cchampion drive, fast fuel and heifer fitter be added and it gets veryexpensive adding all of them.

No, there shouldn't be any reason to add extra feed to the .49 jackpot. Beet pulp is pretty inexpensive to add but the jackpot already has some in it. I would be willing to bet that you will notice a difference from the Purina. Probably $2 cheaper a bag too. I would top dress with some Enhance probiotics but the cost is minimal.
