How do the calves grow out of Rumor Mill. We are considering flushing a full flush X f22 donor that we have to Rumor Mill for Mainetainer females.

Thank you, pds, for considering using Rumor Mill to produce those desirable Mainetainer females.  I, along with the other owners, have been extremely pleased with the positive comments we have heard regarding the overall consistency and high quality of his offspring.  His calves come, from our experience, small, smooth, and sound with adequate bone and a great hair coat.  As they have matured, they gain the proper amount of flesh and grow accordingly.  He has been used on high percentage, bigger bodied, more extreme Maine cows, and he has been used on more terminal crossbred looking cows; what is good is that he is producing calves that are similarly built, passing his solid traits to them.

If you would like to see Rumor Mill sired offspring, please feel free to get in touch with me or any other Rumor Mill owner (Blind Badger Ranch, Shea Geffert, or Bob May).

Blind Badger's sale is this weekend, and many Rumor Mill sired calves will sell.  This is the link to their sale catalog:

Though I have no experience with him, Pat sent me some pictures of some impressive females, a couple promotion bulls, and a few steers out of him. Calves looked awesome!

I really like what this bull offers in pedigree and appears to put some needed doing ability in the equation.

The lot 3 heifer in Blind Badgers Sale, sired by Rumor Mill, did not take a great picture but her video is absolutely awesome. She is thick from end to end and seems to really get out there and move with ease. The Maine's can use more like her. She also has a great cow family to back her up. Have not had time to look at all of them yet.

I saw a group of Rumor Mill calves at the Colorado State judging contest.  I was blown away by the quality.  They were exactly what we were looking for in females: feminine in their design, tons of rib, sound, hairy, good bone, good structure, and just had a look that was second to none.  I think this bull has a bright future working on a wide variety of females.  It will be cool to watch his first daughters come into production.

Let us know how the calves turn out if you end up using him. I'm thinking about trying him on a Heatwave x full flush x 602g.  The calves in blind badgers sale looked real good.

Rumor Mill is both THF and PHAF. We truly appreciate all the kind and positive words pertaining to Rumor Mill and his offspring. As tipmover noted, we are extremely excited to watch his first daughters move into the production facet of their longevity.

Thanks again,

Pat Wolfe
