Maybe my memory is going bad, but I thought Salty Dog was a hired man son and tonight I was reading Traush's sire catalogue and it says his sire is Heatwave. I did a search on here about him and in a post from January 2010 when he was displayed in Denver it also says he is a Hiredman son. So when was it decided that he was a HW, or did they do a DNA test or is that one of those "He is a HW" so his calves will hopfully bring more money. Just wondering!

Also in the thread from January 2010 there was a bull on there named TAXI, what ever happened to him and does anyone have any calves and/or pictures?

I am almost certain this is a typo. In the new show circuit he is again listed as a hired man. Lautner's had a few typos in their semen catalog so I would say Trasch's might have too.

Yes Salty Dog is a Hired Man son.  It is a typo in our semen catalog.  We didn't notice it until someone pointed it out to us at Ohio Beef Expo.  Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the correct information just thought it was strange that all this time I had thought he was a Hiredman and then I read that he was a HW and wondered if there had been somemistake. And there was just not as far as the original information. Thanks for the clarification.

Does anyone know anything about the red and white bull on here? Looks interesting...

When I did a search on Salty Dog a thread from January 2010 I read had that bull on it, his name from what I could find out is "Taxi" and I would like the info as well. The one picture has phone numbers on it so a person might get a lead from there.
