I am curious if anyone has had or seen his calves this season yet? I have a purbred Angus cow that I was considering using him on. She is a larger framed cow with good length and rib and enough muscling. Will SALUTE downsize any? Add muscle? Anything youve seen that he throws is helpful! Thanks!!!

(welcome) cattlechick!

From what I've heard, they're been big boned & good haired. BW's have been mid 80's. He really looked good at Louisville. I would think he'd downsize & add bone.
I really liked him a lot.

more indications are that calves tend to be mid 80's to upper 90's. Good frame & bone, lots of hair.
Not sure what type of cows being used. Maybe the Shorthorn gang has a better idea on what to use him on?

Has the cow calved yet? When she does, I'd like to see some pictures, thanks.

She will calve in the fall. We pretty much show fall borns down here. There are a few winter and spring born calves shown but they usually don't do much in the final drives.

CattleChick, the birth weights are coming back pretty big on some of the cows. Of course the cow is going to be a big factor too in the weights. Some are indicating that they tend to come a little later than average.
Just wanted to let you know. But from what I'm hearing, a lot are really pleased w/ their calves so far.
