Looking for a red bull to breed to cows. How is he for length, width, and structural soundness. I would guess there would be some milking daughters in production how do they milk? What kind of bws and weaning weights can a person expect?

I may be a little biased but we believe he is the most consistent herd bull we have used so far. He will certainly add body mass to almost any shorthorn bloodline. He is a very deep sided, long, thick bull and he passes that on to his calves. I had one breeder tell me that his Ramrod calves weaned 75 lbs heavier than the rest of his shorthorn calves. He does throw a little more birth weight but we have never had to pull a calf off him ( we have never bred him to heifers). His calves off our cows probably average just under 100 lbs. He is also a 100% dehorner. The daughters we have in production look like they are going to make excellent cows. They are moderate framed easy fleshing cows with sound, well attached udders. We don't AI much anymore but if we start again we will be using him heavily. In our situation it's just much easier to turn the bulls out so we are using 3 sons and 1 grandson on our purebred cows.
