That is a pretty good looking bull.  I've got a yearling Resource son that I used heavily last year, picture below.  His Dam is a HF Kodiak 5R daughter (Canadian bull).

Next pic is my Bullseye son.

I haven't used a bunch of Connealy bulls.  We did use Connealy Imprint heavily one year.  Calves grew well and were deep bodied and hairy.  Feet were so-so and not an udder improver by any means.  Last 2 pics are imprint progeny.

WOAH! GREAT looking set of cattle!  <party> <rock>

Some more pics of some of my Resource progeny for those who are interested. Bull Calf pictured at 11 months of age. Hfr Calf at 9 months, and my yearling bull.  First 2 are flushmates. Yearling bull is on the lean side - walked with 20 cows this summer.  The thing I love about them all is the character in their heads.  They look like an Aberdeen Angus should (IMO).

Those are some really nice looking cattle.... I like the look of um should be some growing fools too?

Thanks Fish.  Yes they do grow really well to weaning and yearling then slow down.  Bull calves have averaged over 800lb 205 day weights and YW avg around 1300-1400lbs.  Nice part is they don't keep growing after that.  They seem to fill out and stay moderate in frame. They aren't really "show cattle" but they are good cattle.

Fish - sent you a PM so I don't derail the tread.

Attached better pics of a couple of the Resource bulls and a heifer calf (full sib to first bull)

Yup all Resource.  Resource has been consistent that's for sure.  Whether you like the progeny or not, they are predictable.  I used the yearling bull (NYK 5C) quite a bit this year.  Hoping he can stamp them like his daddy.

I surprised that my Genex rep said that there is a wait for SAV Renown but Resource is available.
They are full brothers or siblings...Renown seems to be larger frame...is that and better CED epds the main difference? Thanks.

Around here it's the bigger frame that is making Renown more sought after.  My Resource calves are far from small in my opinion so I am not eager to go bigger.

I thought you all liked scale-breaking, big-framed cattle in Canada. Thanks so much for your feedback.

I found out at the Genex meeting in Minneapolis this week that Renown is backordered a few weeks (2-4 they said) because he is not collecting as well and there is a high demand. But they have filled the orders quickly.

That and Resource is one of their best as far as semen production goes so he easily keeps up, even with high demand.

Airgator - scale crushing is great if you aren't paying for the feed.  My cows are right where I want them; ~6 frame and ~1500lbs.  I don't want to add frame.  Some guys do.  My grass sucks so I'd rather add weight via depth, length, and capacity which is what Resource excels at.

Sorry if I sound like a salesman.  No personal interest in the bull.  Just lots of experience and it has been positive to date.

Cowboy,
No apologies necessary. I am glad to get first-hand information.  I don't get to visit sales or shows.
As long as you are not having problems with calving or maternal calving ease that's the important thing.
The epds would have scared me off without your feedback. I really like that day old bull calf out of Resource.  I would like some of those at my house.

3 more Resource sons from the parents place.  I love the skull he puts on them all.

Better pic of the big guy.  28 months of age.  Just finished breeding.  Resources are certainly the easiest fleshing cattle I have on the farm.
