I was clipping bulls today and saw something that I'd never seen before. One of the Hereford bulls had four scurs- two little ones on either side of his head. Has anyone ever seen this?

I forgot to get a picture when he was in the chute since we were in a hurry but I managed to get a blurry one after. I drew arrows to point at them since the picture is of very poor quality.

No. It's the ds gene, double scurs.

I think double stuff is in his pedigree.

Get him tested

Aj needs another defect.

Could it be a caustic dehorn paste goof up or something?

That was my first thought but they are wobbly like scurs and seem a bit too far away to have been attached. Other than that I have no ideas.

Maybe they tried to use paste on the scurs and didn't get enough on to kill it deep enough.  Seems likely enough.  I find it hard to imagine him having 4 horns/scurs, but I guess we've all seen weirder things...
