If you put a 4-6 month old calf in a cooler before sale does it somehow screw up there heir cycle? Ive only heard one person tell me this but I'm wondering if there's any truth to it.

Yes, if you "help" them hair up faster in the fall they will loose it earlier in the spring.

I have heard the same thing, but never experienced it to be true.

The babies that got put in the cooler in the fall to hair up did not lose their hair any earlier the next spring than the calves that were not put in the cooler.

Maybe it is a regional thing, or depends on the year or just the calf.  I don't know.
