I have a newborn with front joint problems, bucked over in knees.  Gave him 2 cc of Bo-Se on Friday at 2 days old.  I have Multimin 90 ordered and should have it this week.  How soon can I safely use the Multimin?  Or does anyone have another tyreatment?

Was it immediately when the calf was born or several hours later? Sometimes a virus or infection in the navel causes that and you can treat them with penicillin. I'm not sure about how much more vitamins you can give but a little bit of Banamine/FluNixin might help with the swelling in the joints and help the calf recover quicker.

This is per our vets and we are in a selenium deficient area.

If 80 lb calf we're giving 3 Bo Se and 1 MultiMin.  I would check with your vet though to be safe.  When we have a calf that is bad we will re-treat at 7 days with more Bo Se.  But you need to make sure your vet oks this.  You can get into selenium toxicity quick and that is not pretty.

I agree I would look at something besides only BoSe. Any temp?  We haven't had a naval yet but I'm sure we will in this weather.  We switched to Vetericyn Super 7 in a teat dip cup and that seems to have helped us.  We treat navels for the most part with NuFlor and pen.
