Should minor scratches on a semen tank be retouched and if so with what?

I'm not talking about deep gashes that ruin the tank but rather minor scratches in the paint that just expose a little bit of metal.

I don't have a clue if the scratches could hurt the integrity of the tank.  I wouldn't think they would.  If they are bothering you I bet you could find some fingernail polish that is a close match.

The tank should be made of aluminum so you should be ok either way.  It just depends if you want it to look new or used.

I thought the paint was to improve the looks.

Does it help hold in the temp?

I think they are kinda of like propane tanks in that they are a white/gray color to absorbe less heat which keeps the tank shell cooler and causes the tank to leak less
